Applying the NPV value matrix to fossil fuels, they’d come out with a declining to negative index, a disincentive to further development and production. Renewable energy, on the other hand, will have a positive index stimulating entrepreneurs in that direction. Remediation and restoration of oil-polluted sites will provide another positive value area of endeavor.

  1. Can federal government somehow push our too big to fail fossil fuel firms in direction of investing in renewable energy to replace fossil fuels? Exxon Mobil is way too big to fail–being largest corporation in world in any industry.
